Zanti and Aila Scholarship Fund—In Memory of Don McCubbing
As friends of Don and Miwako, we think that it would mean the world to them for Zanti and Aila to be able to pursue a higher education.
We were fortunate enough to know Don
We know that his family—Miwako, Aila and Zanti—was his driving force, his pride, his love, and his joy. He was a dedicated and hands-on father, and as his girls grow, we see how much they take after him in his kindness and good nature.
We are also fortunate enough to know Miwako
We saw her strength, loyalty, love, and perseverance as she looked after Don, and as she continues to look after their girls. Many of us were deeply affected by her experience, and many of us came through to stand by her, share her grief, and offer her support.
As friends of Don and Miwako
One of the things that stands out the most about both of them is how intellectually curious they are/were. They sought understanding of big and little things, and of people and relationships. They designed, improvised, and looked for answers that were creative and original. They challenged you for your opinion, and they listened, really listened, to what you had to say.
In the absence of Don, we would like to do the very little that we can to help them realize the opportunity when the time comes. Friends and family, please join us in our effort to raise a scholarship for Zanti and Aila.
